  • What is a Board Certified Pediatric Audiologist?

A board certified pediatric audiologist holds a Specialty Certification from the American Board of Audiology. The person who holds a PASC is a medical professional that specializes in evaluating the hearing of infants and children. The PASC requires advanced knowledge of hearing testing and child development. Board Certified Pediatric Audiologists are equipped to perform a wide range of testing and provide excellent care for your child.

  • What Services Do Pediatric Audiologists Provide in the Home?

Services are based on the condition, symptoms, age, and other factors related to the child’s development. Our pediatric audiologist will conduct the most appropriate hearing test to determine your child’s level of hearing. Testing may include: behavioral testing (conditioned play audiometry or traditional audiometry, middle ear function testing, speech testing, and electrophysiological testing, such as, Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) and non-sedated Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR). Using the information gathered during the examination, our pediatric audiologist will provide a diagnosis and treatment options. Every home visit is personalized for the child to address the care needed to encourage speech and language development. While most testing can be done in a natural environment, not all children do their best at home. Some testing cannot be done in a home; therefore, we promise to make the appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
